YORKSHIRE Packaging Systems is celebrating after winning both regional and national prizes at the National Family Business Awards (NFBA) 2018.
The shrink wrapping solutions provider picked up gongs in the categories of North East Regional Rising Star, National Rising Star and the Lifetime Achievement accolade, in recognition of chairman David Johnson’s four decades at the helm of the company he founded in 1977.
YPS has stayed true to its family roots, with David’s son Glyn now occupying the role of managing director and daughter Rachel as operations director.
The winners were unveiled at a ceremony at Wembley Stadium.
Glyn Johnson said, “We are extremely proud to be a family business that’s still going strong after 40 years. Our reputation is of paramount importance to us because of the family ties and this is reflected in every element of our business. It means that we value integrity, honesty and trustworthiness as well as having a deep sense of pride in every product and service we supply. The memory of scooping these three fantastic awards is something we will relish as a family for years to come.”
