SMURFIT Kappa is celebrating after picking up two gongs for Point of Sale (POS) and automotive packaging solutions at the WorldStar Packaging Awards.
The AlphaBooks display, produced for the IF gifts company, involved Smurfit Kappa designers creating a POS display which gave a 360o degree view of the letter-shaped notebooks.
The second winning product was a packaging system for different left and right Audi automotive latches. Smurfit Kappa said that, thanks to “cleverly placed” cut-outs, 12 latches fit in easily without any damage during either insertion or transport, and reduced the time spent on assembly and filling.
Saverio Mayer, CEO of Smurfit Kappa Europe said, “We are delighted and honoured to have been recognised in these prestigious awards. We work with customers from many different sectors to come up with packaging that will deliver against a number of briefs including protecting the product during the supply chain, as part of our SupplySmart service, and attracting consumer attention in store as part of our ShelfSmart service.”
The winners were announced at an awards ceremony in Queensland, Australia.
