A familiar face to Makro Labelling has placed an order that could be described as sheer magic!
Juice and smoothies specialist Sunmagic, based in Llantrisant, Wales, also develops own label products for high-end retailers.
Some components on the firm’s two existing lines needed upgrading, which led to the business placing an order for a new Makro MAK-2 self-adhesive labeller, which is due to be installed in August.
Makro Labelling UK MD Richard Portman explained, “We had dealings with the site director, Simon Greenwood, when he was previously at Framptons in Shepton Mallet, so he was very familiar with Makro labellers and my company in the UK. Simon placed an order for the Makro MAK-2 12 platform labeller that will run at 12,000 b.p.h. applying wraparound self-adhesive labels onto round, triangular, hexagonal and square PET bottles ranging from 250ml to 1 litre in size.
“This machine offers clients very quick changeovers whatever the label or bottle size and as the run lengths are not always that long there can be up to six changeovers per shift. The flexibility built in to Makro labelling machines was key to the client coming to us.
“Yet again the start of this year has been a record in terms of machine orders and installations. Here in the UK we have recently installed the largest wet glue labeller that Makro has made at Shepherd Neame in Faversham, together with one of the fastest roll feed wraparound labellers that Makro have built to-date being supplied to Clearly Drinks in Sunderland. All this success is on top of the orders we have received for our complete lines for micro brewers and spirit bottlers so 2018 is proving to be yet another very exciting year for us.”
