AUTOMATED Packaging Systems has announced that the business has updated its ISO accreditations to ISO 14001:2015 for environmental management and ISO 9001:2015 for quality management.
The company said ISO 9001:2015 ensures it has the correct logistical and inclusive processes in place to improve quality control of products and services, and meet customer requirements, while while ISO 14001:2015 provides a set framework to measure and improve environmental impact.
Managing director Peter Wylie said, “We have always been committed to ensuring our processes meet the latest British and International standards and we were one of the first UK companies to embrace ISO 9000. The latest standard incorporates a company’s processes into its strategic line of business, which is a major step in the right direction as it ensures complete transparency of internal processes, reduces the risk of errors and increases customer satisfaction.
“It is also important that packaging companies are environmentally aware and our newly updated accreditation highlights that Automated Packaging Systems takes environmental issues seriously. There is still a long way to go for the industry but proactively taking measures to improve environmental impact enables companies to ingrain issues such as this into its culture and achieve complete employee engagement, which is crucial to meet ever-changing political and stakeholder requirements. Ultimately, each decision made at every level in the company should consider the impact on the environment.
“Looking ahead, we will continue to embrace newly updated accreditations as they help us to grow as a company and ensure that we consider and meet legislative requirements.”
