CAN manufacturer Ball has teamed up with Heineken Serbia to produce a limited-edition can featuring Serbian artwork.
Designed to mark the re-opening of the Serbian National Museum after a 15-year closure, the cans have been produced in Ball’s Belgrade facility in 50-centiliter standard format.
Heineken created four limited edition cans for its Zaječarsko brand after selecting four pieces of artwork from the museum, which houses more than 3,000 paintings and 900 sculptures. Heineken worked with Ball to transfer the designs onto cans.
The Ball team used its HD printing technique to ensure the artwork reflected the original paintings. HD technology is based on direct laser engraved plates, which Ball said allows the customer to achieve a “higher visibility of fine detail”.
The limited-edition cans celebrate the work of famous Serbian artists Paja Jovanovic, Dimitrije Avramovic, Sava Sumanovic and Nadezda Petrovic. One Serbian Dinar from each can sold will go to the museum to help provide continued support.
A spokesperson from Zaječarsko said, “Ball was a clear choice when it came to choosing a partner for this unique can design. The team was innovative, excited and helpful when assisting in choosing the designs and printing options. The cans bring the beautiful artwork into the hands of the people in Serbia.”
Jovan Jovanovic, sales manager for Ball added, “The collaboration is unique for Ball and really puts our printing techniques to the test. We see a great appeal for limited edition packaging and are delighted with the result.”
The cans will be available to buy in Serbia until the end of June.
