Latest innovations to be showcased at FoodTec

The CCW-RV-232B

THE latest machines for the food packaging sector will take centre stage at the Anuga FoodTec trade fair in Cologne in March.

Ishida Europe has revealed its weighing, packing and quality control capabilities will be on show with solutions for a range of food sectors.

Highlights include a dedicated salad packing line, a 32-head multihead weigher for mixed product applications and an x-ray system than can detect bones in meat fillets.

The Ishida salad packing line is described by Ishida as meeting growing demand for pre-packed fresh salads. It features the 14 head RV salad weigher, carousel filler and QX-775 FLEX tray sealer.

The 32-head CCW-RV-232B is being shown in a WP waterproof version, said to be “ideal” for mix-weighing frozen foods. It can handle up to eight different products for discharge into the same pack

Ishida’s IX-G2 x-ray inspection system will also be on display. Ishida explained that its dual energy technology provides “highly effective” X-ray detection of low-density objects, even in varying thickness or overlapping products, allowing it to find small bone pieces in meat and poultry fillets.

The KHS Group will also be at FoodTec with the firm’s new chunk dosing unit for functional milk beverages. KHS said this allows gentle filling of chunks measuring up to 10 x 10 x 10mm. The new dosing unit can be installed on all linear systems and supplements the existing filling system.

KHS sales director for Dairy Europe, Thomas Redeker, said, “Users gain many benefits when fillers can be combined with our Blomax stretch blow molder to form a compact block system.”

FoodTec runs from March 20-23.
