ELANDERS UK is eyeing up expansion opportunities after acquiring neck tag and label specialist Spreckley Limited for an undisclosed sum.

The print and packaging company said the deal will also see it strengthen its position in premium packaging markets.

Elanders UK posted an annual turnover of £27.5 million in 2016. The firm offers a range of supply chain, print, packaging, fulfilment and e-commerce services. The purchase of Spreckley will provide an extra 24,000 sq. ft. of space in the Nottingham area and increase employee numbers by 20 to 218.

Chris Hewitt, Elanders UK managing director said, “Spreckley is a terrific and synergistic addition to our portfolio and we are excited to welcome the Spreckley team on board. The acquisition will allow us expand our offering and provide clients with a host of new services in both new and existing sectors.

“Our acquisition of Spreckley, a premium niche packaging specialist, is a key part of our company growth and development strategy. This purchase, coupled with our recent multi million investment into new Litho, digital printing and finishing technology, will undoubtedly improve company productivity, efficiency and capacity, as well as help us expand into new markets.”

Trevor Jackson, managing director of Spreckley added, “Elanders UK is a highly respected business and it has a commitment to quality that chimes well with the ethos we have built over the last 30 years at Spreckley. We are therefore delighted to be joining forces and look forward to a long and mutually successful relationship.”
