Seminar programme confirmed for London event

Packaging Innovations and Luxury Packaging London 2016 has announced its seminar programme for this year’s event.

Britvic, Harrods and Young’s Seafood are among the names who will take to the stage at the exhibition, which takes place on 14 & 15 September at London’s Olympia.

The seminar programme will run across three theatres throughout the event and includes an opening interview and Q&A session with Mark Pawsey MP and chair of the All Party Parliamentary Packaging Group.

Also on day one will be an interactive panel discussion based around ‘The future of creative packaging’. The panel will include Alex Higgs, creative manager at Think Tank Media, Simon Rumble, brand enhancement at Leonhard Kurz Stiftung & Co, Chris Jones, technical print production manager at Novalia and Ian McKay, business development manager of Strand Paper.

Ann Dunne, head of food technology and development at Harrods, will examine ‘The emerging trends in the prestige and luxury markets’ while Lisa Meade, senior innovation manager – packaging at Britvic, discusses packaging development challenges and opportunities.

Natalie Maher, MD at Good, will present in partnership with its client Milroy’s of Soho. She will discuss why, in the world of spirits,primary and secondary packaging are vital for differentiation and premiumisation.

In a combination of both luxury and innovation, Neil Farmer, owner of Neil Farmer Associates, will assess the status of the world packaging market and innovations by consumer goods producers. He will also look recent developments in the luxury goods sector and examine successful design features.

Paul Day, packaging technologist at LF Beauty, will explore the pitfalls when managing NPD projects and where to look for inspiration to innovate. Alison Vincent, MD of AVA Packaging Solutions, will explain the seven essential elements packaging departments in FMCG/CPG companies must embrace to create value. Jessica Tommila, director market communications at Iggesund Paperboard, will lead a seminar on sustainability.

The first ever Dieline Conference held outside of America will deliver a series of sessions looking at the challenges and opportunities that arise when designing a brand.
