Rigid box supplier Pollard Boxes has announced its acquisition of the trading name, business and assets of presentation packaging manufacturer Clarke Rubicon Ltd.

Leicestershire-based Clarke Rubicon will continue to trade under its own name from its site in Coalville, “while benefitting from the full resources and support of the Pollard Boxes group,” according to a spokesperson.

The acquisition makes Pollard Boxes the largest producer of rigid boxes in the UK.

Pollard Boxes managing director, Mark Pollard, commented, “We are delighted to welcome Clarke Rubicon into the Pollard group.

“The company has a deserved reputation for the quality of its products and services and, working together, we will be able to further enhance and develop our capabilities to provide our customers with unparalleled levels of technical excellence from a UK manufacturer.

“We are especially pleased that the Clarke Rubicon management team of David Warren, Jim Burton and Phil Kendal are all remaining with the business.”

Jim Burton, managing director at Clarke Rubicon, added, “This offers additional opportunities for Clarke Rubicon and its employees.

“We have long admired the Pollard business model, and look forward to playing our part in the successful development of the combined businesses.

“Our customers will continue to deal with our own sales people while at the same time having access to an even wider range of facilities and expertise to provide the highest quality packaging solutions.”
