THE season of goodwill has started early at Midlands-based family firm Oakland International following a recruitment drive which has effectively doubled their contract packing workforce for the busy Christmas period ahead.

Contract packing case numbers for the Redditch-based operator will peak in the week leading up to Christmas, and in addition to the normal range of contract packed products surging through the company’s warehouses, contract packing employees will handle well over 5,000,000 million packs of fish, party foods and desserts, cheeses and alike destined for retailers up and down the UK and Ireland.

Oakland International MD, Barry Davies, said, “Oakland International is firmly established as an outsourcing contract packing partner of choice, with organic growth in this specialist sector leading Oakland to double its contract packing workforce to support the seasonal demand, having invested and increased its facilities by 100% for the forthcoming year.”

Oakland supports all manner of ambient, chilled, frozen food and non-food retail contract packing customers.
