HERMA’s Labelling Machines division has named Mark Bulling its new head of service.
The 36-year-old graduate engineer, who specialises in mechanical engineering, was head of spare parts sales in the Labelling Machines division during the last six years. Previously, he had been working for the high-tech ceramics specialist CeramTec. In his new position, he will also be in charge of the online store www.herma-components.com, where customers and sales partners can directly order spare parts and optional accessories.
Bulling has an ambitious goal for the online store that was launched at the 2014 Interpack exhibition: In 2015, more than 50 percent of spare parts sales will be generated via the internet. “We are on the right track. Six months after the launch of the online store, we were already making a quarter of the spare parts and component sales via this channel,” he said. “Worldwide demand for our labelling machines is increasing rapidly; spare parts and components need to be available at short notice. There must not be any standstill for our customers.”
The advantages of online stores are obvious: they are available around the clock worldwide, and orders can be viewed and tracked digitally. This enables fast and transparent order processing, which, according to Bulling, has not yet become a standard. “With this online store, HERMA has become a pioneer in the industry, where such channels are not yet widespread.”
Martin Kühl, head of the Labelling Machines Division, added, “With this step, we extend our service activities and hand the responsibility to a proven service expert. The HERMA online store helps us fulfil increasing customer demand more reliably and quickly and align the company towards future growth.”
