CCL plans to buy Scottish firm collapse

A DEAL to sell John Watson & Co., one of Scotland’s oldest printing firms and a maker of labels for leading Scotch whiskey brands, to CCL, the world’s largest labeling conglomerate, has fallen through.

First mooted in November 2012, the deal was expected to be formalised early next year. John Watson has said that problems emerged following due diligence, and the two companies were unable to reach agreement on the deal.
